Chris Schoelen
Guitar Instructor
Chris Schoelen is a local guitarist from Burlington and Tunbridge, VT. He has played in many different venues around Vermont including the Tracy music hall and the Chandler music hall. Chris teaches and performs many different styles of guitar including jazz, blues, rock, folk, and classical. He has played music for over ten years and after completing two years of music school from Hofstra University, transferred to Humboldt State University where he earned a B.A. degree in music. During this time he also went to Spain where he participated in a study of Spanish song and dance program at the music school in Granada, Spain.
Chris has taught guitar for many years and was a guitar instructor at Long Lake Camp for the Arts in 2008. Chris has played in many groups such as rock bands, jazz bands, guitar ensembles, and pit orchestras. He also has been a producer of music in his home studio, Surface Guitar Studios, where he as produced and mastered over 100 music projects. These projects include live full band recordings, movie scores, classical pieces, and solo singer/songwriter songs.

Jon Hussey
Drum Instructor
Jon Hussey is a professional drum set performer and educator who has studied with such prominent teachers as Joe Porcaro, Joe LaBarbera, and Ed Soph. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas, where he attended on a drum set scholarship.
He has toured the country and played with bands of many different musical styles, including rock, blues, jazz, country, and funk/r&b. Currently he is the drummer for Joey Leone’s Chop Shop, a full time band based in Vermont that plays all over the northeast. As a teacher, Jon has taught every age, level, and style on the drum set and percussion. He is endorsed by Vic Firth drumsticks as a drum set educator.
Jon teaches on Wednesdays. |
